General Service Agreement Information

The following information will assist government staff in preparing a General Service Agreement (GSA) based on the type of service being contracted.
Please read the Completion Instructions for use of the GSA and Schedules. Please note that the GSA is not to be used for third-party service agreements (e.g. Transfers under Agreement).

General Services
Meaning:
All general service contracts, including professional services, except Information Technology and Management Consulting Professional Services and Financial Review and Assurance Services (as described below).
The General Service Agreement (GSA) (Word format)
Schedule A Services (Use this if there is insufficient space in the GSA form)
Schedule B Fees/Expenses (Use this if there is insufficient space in the GSA form)
Schedule C Approved Subcontractors
Schedule D Insurance
(Standard version for general use if insurance is required) Schedule D, clause 1 is customized by the Contract Manager to incorporate the required amount of CGL and other insurance requirements appropriate to the services provided.Schedule E Privacy Protection Schedule

Information Technology & Management Consulting Professional Services
Meaning:Service contracts (see Guidelines for IT Service Contracts); human resources benefits services contracts; accounting services contracts; and, Management Consulting Service Contracts. Refer to the definitions of each to determine whether the services provided require this version of the GSA/Schedules to be used.

Financial Review and Assurance Services:
Meaning:
Service contracts for assurance services requesting a financial opinion, including financial audits and review engagements, provided by people with a recognized professional accounting designation
Application of these terms and conditions are restricted to situations where the review and assurance work is: a) done by Internal Auditor and Advisory Services either directly or by a contractor hired by them; or b) done by a contractor hired by a ministry with an audit provision in their legislation.
